Fireplace Whitewash

Before the renovation, the formal sitting room was dominated by a large, dark brick fireplace that, while architecturally striking, felt heavy and visually overwhelming. The transformation began with whitewashing the brick, a thoughtful design choice that preserved the texture and character of the original masonry while dramatically lightening its presence. The softened finish allowed the intricate brick pattern to remain visible, but with a refreshed, airy feel that instantly modernized the space. What was once a dark visual barrier became an elegant architectural feature that reflects light and enhances the room’s sense of scale.

After the update, the fireplace now complements the formal sitting room rather than overpowering it.
