BeDi Design came to fruition not from a business plan, but from lived experience, compassion, and a genuine desire to help.

After completing several successful DIY renovation and design projects, Beverly and Dion Brown began receiving consistent referrals from friends and family. What started as informal guidance quickly revealed a broader need—people were overwhelmed by the complexity, cost, and uncertainty that often accompany home improvement and design projects. Although turning this knowledge into a business was not the original intention, one pivotal experience gave BeDi Design its true purpose.

That moment came when an aunt and uncle found themselves struggling to navigate the stairs in their home. Like many homeowners facing mobility challenges, they were met with astronomical contractor quotes that made accessibility modifications feel financially out of reach. Refusing to accept that outcome, Beverly and Dion extended a helping hand, walking their relatives step-by-step through zoning meetings, permit applications, contractor hiring, inspections, and rental licensing requirements.

Together, they transformed an underutilized basement into a thoughtfully designed, easily accessible living space. The result allowed the couple to remain in their home while converting the original residence into a rental opportunity—creating both independence and financial support. This solution enabled them to truly “Age in Place” while generating rental income, turning a daunting situation into one rooted in dignity, comfort, and sustainability.

From that experience, BeDi Design was born.

Today, BeDi Design has expanded beyond renovation consulting to include interior decorating and art curation for clients seeking to enhance the overall feel and emotional impact of their spaces. Whether refining an existing aesthetic, sourcing custom artwork, or creating cohesive interiors that reflect personal style, BeDi meets each client where they are—both creatively and financially.

BeDi Design was co-founded by Beverly Brown, a visionary creator whose eye for fashion and décor has been evident since childhood. By the age of ten, Beverly was already assisting women many years her senior with aesthetics—helping them refine their style, elevate their presence, and see themselves through a more confident lens. That natural instinct for beauty and balance became the foundation of a lifelong calling.

As a single mother, Beverly relied on these talents not only as creative expression but as a way to build a joyful, emotionally rich home. She transformed everyday spaces into environments that inspired warmth, pride, and happiness—proving that beauty is not a luxury, but a powerful emotional experience. This philosophy would continue to guide her professional journey.

Leaving a successful career with Caterpillar Finance, Beverly followed her passion and opened the Divine Boutique in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. There, she worked closely with women to identify their personal look, focusing on clothing that bolstered self-esteem and complemented each client in an eye-dazzling, confidence-building way. Her ability to intuitively understand her clientele often led her to become a personal fashion shopper—curating wardrobes that reflected not just trends, but identity.

Beverly’s love for design soon expanded beyond personal fashion into the home itself. She began creating cohesive environments that mirrored her clients’ style and spirit, seamlessly blending fashion and interior décor. After relocating to Maryland as a homemaker, she continued refining this holistic approach to beauty, design, and emotional connection.

BeDi Design is the culmination of over 25 years of experience, passion, and dedication. It represents Beverly Brown’s unwavering commitment to fostering beauty—through fashion, interiors, and thoughtfully designed spaces that inspire confidence, joy, and a sense of belonging for every client she serves.

Dion Brown brings more than 35 years of leadership, personnel management, and project management experience to BeDi Design. His professional journey is marked by versatility, discipline, and a deep understanding of how to guide people and projects from vision to completion. Throughout his career, Dion has successfully navigated multiple industries, each contributing a unique layer to the expertise he now offers BeDi clients.

Beginning his career in the U.S. Army, Dion developed a strong foundation in leadership, structure, and accountability. He later expanded his skill set across diverse fields including culinary arts, telecommunications, web design, audio production and sound design, and construction. Each transition strengthened his ability to manage complex systems, coordinate teams, and deliver high-quality results—regardless of environment or challenge.

Dion’s professional path ultimately culminated in the automotive industry with Nissan North America, where he further refined his project management and operational expertise before retiring. His tenure there reinforced his strengths in efficiency, quality control, and strategic execution.

Following retirement, Dion partnered with his wife, Beverly Brown, to co-create BeDi Design. The company provides the ideal platform for Dion to apply the breadth of skills he has mastered over a lifetime. At BeDi Design, he ensures that creativity is supported by structure, timelines, and clear communication—offering clients the perfect balance of artistic vision and disciplined management.

Dion’s multifaceted background allows BeDi Design to operate with precision and professionalism, giving clients confidence that their projects are not only beautifully imagined, but expertly managed from start to finish.
